National Farmers Day Essay in English

National Farmers Day Essay in English: Every year on December 23, we celebrate National Farmers Day in India. This day is very special because it is the birthday of Choudhary Charan Singh, a great leader who always worked hard for farmers. He was once the Prime Minister of our country and loved farmers like his own family. On this day, we say a big thank you to all the farmers who grow food for us.

I remember when I was small, maybe in class 2, I went to my nani’s village during summer holidays. My nani told me many stories about her father, who was a farmer. He would wake up very early, even before the sun, and go to the fields. She said he talked to the plants like they were his children. “Beta, if you care for the soil, the soil will care for you,” he used to say. I loved listening to those stories while eating fresh mangoes from their tree. That time, I felt so happy and close to nature.

Farmers are like superheroes without capes. They work in the hot sun, in the rain, and even in the cold winter. They plough the land, sow seeds, water the plants, and protect them from insects. Because of them, we get rice, wheat, vegetables, fruits, and milk on our tables every day. My friend Rohan once told me in school, “My papa is a farmer. He says one small seed can become a big plant and feed many people.” We all clapped for Rohan’s papa that day in class. It made me feel proud of all farmers.

One day in school, our teacher asked us to draw our favourite food. I drew a plate full of roti, dal, and sabzi. Then she asked, “Who gives us all this?” Everyone shouted, “Farmers!” We made thank you cards for farmers that day. I wrote, “Dear Farmer Uncle/Aunty, thank you for growing yummy food. You are the best!” I still remember how happy I felt giving that card to the teacher. She said she would send them to a village school.

Sometimes I think about my dada-dadi. They live in a small town, and dada still has a little kitchen garden. He grows tomatoes, brinjal, and coriander. Every weekend when we visit, he shows me how to pull out weeds gently. “See, beta, hard work and love make everything grow,” he says with a big smile. Those moments are my favourite memories. They teach me that farmers are kind and patient.

National Farmers Day reminds us to respect farmers. They feed the whole country, but sometimes they face problems like too much rain or no rain. We should not waste food because it comes from their hard work. In school, we learn to say “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” which means hail the soldier, hail the farmer. Both protect us in their own way.

On this National Farmers Day, let us promise to help farmers in small ways. We can save water, not throw food, and learn about farming. Maybe one day, some of us can become scientists who make better seeds or machines for them. Farmers are the backbone of our country. They give us life through their hard work. Thank you, dear farmers, from the bottom of my heart. You make our India strong and happy!
